For those looking for something off the beaten path. This trail climbs to the top the Cerro Punta, the rock formation for which the town of Cerro Punta was named. The trail begins in bamboo forests and then proceeds to jungle with many large rock formations along the way. The summit, at 2300m, commands a stunning view of all Cerro Punta.
Make sure to bring good hiking shoes. Consider bringing a light coat, temperatures in Cerro Punta can be quite cool. A rain coat is recommended especially if traveling in the rainy season.
